With the VariFlame™ Ignition, the Paramount HTR is capable of burning 160 grains by volume (112 grains by weight) of Blackhorn 209 with the PowerBelt ELR 280 grain bullet leaving the muzzle at over 2,600 fps. While most muzzleloaders use 209 primers, the VariFlame™ System in the Paramount allows for the use of large rifle primers. Just like the previous Paramount, the HTR features a free-floated barrel, which removes the under-barrel ramrod. The Bergara™ barrel on the Paramount HTR features interrupted fluting for lighter weight and greater heat dispersion.
